3D Scanning The Red Hook Trolley to Watertown

In the heart of Red Hook, Brooklyn, MYND Workshop undertook the task of documenting a piece of urban history - the last remaining Watertown trolley from the Boston Green Line. Employing a terrestrial laser scanner, we captured the intricate details of this historic trolley, both inside and out, in a vibrant, colorized point cloud, breathing digital life into a relic of the past. This trolley, once a bustling conduit of city life, now sits quietly at the water's edge, a poignant reminder of Brooklyn's rich urban tapestry and the evolution of public transportation.

This project not only preserved a snapshot of the trolley in its current state but also offered a unique opportunity to explore the layers of history embedded in its structure. The trolley, with its faded paint and weathered seats, tells a story of a bygone era, making it a fascinating subject for both historic preservation and digital documentation. By converting the physical form of the trolley into a detailed 3D model, MYND Workshop has ensured that this piece of New York's heritage can be explored and appreciated by future generations, historians, and preservationists alike.
