Scanning The Historic Banks of Williamsburg
In an exploration of Williamsburg's architectural tapestry, MYND Workshop set its sights on the ornate facades and intricate urban landscapes nestled between 109 and 185 Broadway in Brooklyn, New York. This project wasn't commissioned for a specific end-use but was driven by a curiosity to capture the historic essence and complex spatial narratives of this vibrant neighborhood. Using advanced scanning technologies, we delved into the architectural nuances of this area, focusing particularly on the iconic bank building that anchors George B Post Plaza, a key node at the Brooklyn threshold of the Williamsburg Bridge.
The endeavor resulted in a captivating collection of point cloud renderings, each a digital echo of the physical structures and spaces they represent. These 3D point clouds serve not just as digital archives of the existing urban fabric but as experimental canvases, inviting interpretations of space, form, and time. The scans, executed with precision and care, encapsulate the layered histories and urban dynamism of Williamsburg, presenting a unique intersection of technology, art, and urbanism.
