Trinity Church Window Profile Documentation

MYND Workshop embarked on a meticulous documentation project at the iconic Trinity Church located in the heart of lower Manhattan. The focus of this endeavor was the church's primary section of stained glass windows, each a masterpiece of art and history, telling tales from centuries past. These windows, set in hand-carved openings that have withstood the test of time, required a level of precision documentation that only advanced laser scanning technology could provide.

Utilizing state-of-the-art laser scanning equipment, our team meticulously captured the intricate details and unique contours of each stained glass window. The aim was to preserve the integrity of the original craftsmanship while preparing for the installation of protective glass panes, a crucial step in conserving these historical treasures for future generations.

The laser scans were meticulously processed to generate millimeter-accurate CAD profiles, serving as the foundation for the custom fabrication process. This level of detail ensured that each protective glass pane was tailor-made to fit the distinctive characteristics of the hand-carved window openings, seamlessly blending modern preservation techniques with historical architecture.
